Knowledge Base: How to Set Up Your Domain Email
This guide provides universal instructions for adding any email account hosted by CONNECT, 2u2 Web Technologies to your favorite devices and applications.
Whether you are using a phone, tablet, or desktop computer, the underlying connection principles remain the same for all domains hosted on our servers.
1. Your Universal Connection Settings
When setting up your email, use these "Secure SSL/TLS" settings. They ensure your communication is encrypted and protected.

2. Setting Up Mobile Devices
Apple iPhone & iPad (iOS)

Go to Settings > Mail > Accounts.

Tap Add Account > Other > Add Mail Account.

Enter your Name, Email (yourname@yourdomain.com), and Password.

Select IMAP at the top of the next screen.

Enter the Incoming and Outgoing server details as mail.yourdomain.com.

Ensure you enter your full email address in both the Username fields (Incoming and Outgoing).

Tap Next to verify and Save.
Gmail App (Android & iOS)
Note: This allows you to manage your custom domain email inside the Gmail app alongside your @gmail.com accounts.

Open the Gmail app.

Tap your profile icon (top right) and select Add another account.

Choose Other (IMAP).
-
Enter your full email address and tap Next.

Enter your password and tap Next.

Incoming Settings: Change the server to mail.yourdomain.com. Ensure the port is 993 and Security Type is SSL/TLS.

Outgoing Settings: Change the SMTP server to mail.yourdomain.com. Ensure the port is 465 and Security Type is SSL/TLS.

Follow the prompts to finish the setup.
3. Setting Up Desktop Clients
Apple Mail (Mac)

Open Mail and select Mail > Add Account.

Choose Other Mail Account... and click Continue.

Enter your Name, Email, and Password. Click Sign In.

If it fails to auto-detect, fill in:

Account Type: IMAP
-
Incoming/Outgoing Server: mail.yourdomain.com

Click Sign In to finish.
Microsoft Outlook (Windows & Mac)

Open Outlook and go to File > Add Account.

Enter your email address, click Advanced Options, check "Let me set up my account manually," and click Connect.

Choose IMAP.

Incoming Mail: Server: mail.yourdomain.com | Port: 993 | Encryption: SSL/TLS.

Outgoing Mail: Server: mail.yourdomain.com | Port: 465 | Encryption: SSL/TLS.

Enter your password and click Connect.
4. Using Gmail Web (Browser) to Send/Receive
If you prefer to use the Gmail website on your computer to manage your domain email, follow these steps:
To Receive Email (POP3 Fetcher):

Login to Gmail, click the Gear Icon > See all settings.

Go to the Accounts and Import tab.

Under Check mail from other accounts, click Add a mail account.

Enter your domain email and click Next.
-
Enter your Username (full email), Password, and POP Server (mail.yourdomain.com).
-
Set the Port to 995 and check "Always use a secure connection (SSL)".

Optional: Check "Leave a copy of retrieved message on the server" if you want to see them elsewhere too.
To Send Email (SMTP):

After adding the account above, Gmail will ask if you want to send mail as that address. Select Yes.

Enter your Name as you want it to appear.

SMTP Server: mail.yourdomain.com | Port: 465.

Enter your full email and password. Select Secured connection using SSL.

Verify the account via the confirmation code sent to your email.
5. Pro-Tips for Success

Username is Always Full Email: Many clients just ask for "Username." Always use the full address@yourdomain.com, not just the first part.

Trust Certificates: If you see a warning about a "Mail Server Certificate," you can safely click Trust or Continue. This is common for private mail servers.

Webmail Access: If you are away from your devices, you can always access your email via any browser at https://webmail.yourdomain.com.
